Lambda Associates of Staten Island (LASI) was incorporated in April 1983 with a mission to “institute and promote a Social, Cultural, and Educational association on Staten Island for Gay Men and Women.” The organization celebrated its first anniversary with a dance at the Columbian Lyceum on October 8, 1983.
Join former board member Mitchell Grubler and other Lambda friends to learn about the power of joy and celebration as a tool for LGBTQ organizing in 1980s Staten Island.
